Walgreens Gridiron Grill-Off Food, Wine & Music Festival

When: Nov. 9, noon-4 p.m.; concert, 7-10 p.m.

Where: Pompano Beach Amphitheater, 1806 NE Sixth St., Pompano Beach

What: NFL legends work side by side with area chefs in benefit of former NFL player John Offerdahl’s Hand-Off Foundation and the Taste of the NFL’s Kick Hunger Challenge, supporting Feeding South Florida. Attendees enjoy food, beer and wine and the Gridiron Grill-Off BBQ Competition. The festival ends with a performance by country music standout Brett Young.

St. Jude Popup Dinner Party

When: Nov. 9, 7 p.m.

Where: W Fort Lauderdale, 401 N. Fort Lauderdale Beach Blvd., Fort Lauderdale

What: At the second annual celebration of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, James Beard Award-winning chef Norman Van Aken prepares signature dishes, which attendees can enjoy with paired wine. Attendees also participate in a cocktail reception, dancing and live and silent auctions.

Sting

What: The English icon presents “Sting: My Songs,” a dynamic show that covers the hits of his solo career and his work with The Police such as “Roxanne,” “Message in a Bottle” and “Fields of Gold.” The tour supports his latest album, “My Songs,” which features new interpretations of his hits and is a precursor to his upcoming Las Vegas residency of the same name at Caesars Palace.

The Commodores
