What an unprecedented year 2020 has been for United HomeCare®, a 501(c)(3) non-profit home and community care organization serving disabled older adults since 1974.  Since the beginning of the Pandemic, United HomeCare has kept its doors open with 900 Home Care Heroes functioning as essential workers in Miami Dade County. Our employees, including Home Health Aides and Nurses have remained resilient, providing essential home care services to disabled older adults in our community.

As 2020 comes to an end, we are grateful for the outpouring of support that our older adult clients have received from volunteers, helping us make hundreds of phone calls to alleviate social isolation and reassure our seniors that we are here to help and they are not alone.  Our hearts break for the loss of life this past year due to COVID-19, especially for older adults that did not have a chance to say goodbye to their families.

United HomeCare will reflect on the blessings of good health during our VIRTUAL PRELUDE TO CLAUDE PEPPER HONOREES on December 10, 2020 from 2:00 PM – 2:30 PM.  This complimentary online event, hosted by Laurie Jennings will celebrate our Home Care Heroes and announce the distinguished men and women that have been selected to receive the Claude Pepper Awards in 2021 at our 26th Annual Dinner and Claude Pepper Awards on May 20, 2021.

Join us as we celebrate the lasting legacy of the late Senator Claude Denson Pepper, who fought tirelessly for the rights of the elderly and the poor, championing the Older Americans Act of 1965, a lasting legislation that created a publically funded safety net for Older Americans to live independently at home as they age.  There’s just no place like home!

We welcome your support of United HomeCare’s charitable mission.  For sponsorship opportunities and to make a charitable donation, please visit our website at www.unitedhomecare.com or call (305) 716-0736.
