New limited-time sundae at Hoffman’s Chocolates
- Two weeks ago, the chocolatier held its ice cream competition, Making Sweet Creations for Sweet Donations, where seven nonprofit organizations partnered with a store manager to create a special
sundae. The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation’s Crunchy Monkey Peanut Butter Bang was voted the winner. The foundation will receive a $1,500 donation, and its creation will be featured in all Hoffman’s Chocolates stores through Sept. 4.
- Crunchy Monkey Peanut Butter Bang: Served in a freshly-made waffle bowl half-dipped inchocolate, the over-the-top sundae ($9.95) features three 4 oz. scoops of Hoffman’s signature ice cream: Banana Cream Pie, a creamy banana ice cream with marshmallow ribbons and baked pie crust; Chocolate Fudge Brownie, a velvety chocolate ice cream filled with moist fudge brownie pieces and chocolate fudge; and Elephant Ears, vanilla ice cream swirled with peanut butter and large chocolate chips. It’s then topped with Hoffman’s rich peanut butter cups and fresh bananas, which are covered in sugar and flambeed to a perfect crisp. The mouthwatering sundae is coated with a smooth caramel sauce and finished off with whipped cream and a cherry on top.
