Rumble in the Rock

  • The evening’s Main Event will pit two undefeated fighters in 12 rounds for the WBA Bantamweight Eliminator – WBA #4-rated Stephon “Showstopper” Young (17-0-3, 7 KOs) from St. Louis, Mo. And WBA #5-rated Reymart “GenSan Assassin” Gaballo (18-0, 16 KOs) from the Philippines. Museum of Discovery and Science–New Park Opening

Celebrate the first weekend of spring

Race for Women’s Wellness

  • Sport pink attire and join 2,000 others at the 13th annual half marathon and 5K. Presented by the City of Coral Springs and Broward Health, proceeds benefit the Lisa Boccard Breast Cancer Fund. Enjoy a post-race party (decked out in pink) with food, live entertainment, and an awards presentation.
  • When: Half marathon begins at 6 a.m. and 5K begins at 7:30 a.m.
  • Where: Runners and walkers of both the half marathon and 5K will start at the Coral Springs Tennis Center on Sportsplex Drive (2575 Sportsplex Drive). From there, participants will continue on a fast, flat and paved course that winds through the City.

Deering Seafood Festival

  • More than 8,000 people visit the Deering Estate each year during its annual celebration of Florida’s seafood (pictured). This year’s 14th edition features cooking demonstrations from area chefs, live music, and bites from area restaurants and caterers. Fare at the festival’s Seafood Alley includes dishes from Golden Rule Seafood, Catering by Les, Devon Seafood & Steak and others. At Deering Discovery Cove, children can dabble in experiments with nature and other activities. Entertainment includes performances by Pan Paradise Steel Drum Band, Bahamian Junkanoo musicians, Caribbean Crew and Black Star. Also: boat rides on Chicken Key, a rock-climbing wall and Artists Lane with paintings, crafts and jewelry.

Symphonia Squared

  • The Symphonia presents a journey beyond the music into 18th and 19th Century Vienna through stories, visuals and some of the most celebrated compositions of the day. The interactive experience will bring the music and the period it comes from alive, even for guests with little knowledge of classical music. Pieces include Gluck’s Dance of the Blessed Spirits from Orfeo ed Euridice; Beethoven’s Coriolan Overture; Brahms’ Hungarian Dance #3; Strauss’ Blue Danube Waltz; and Mozart’s Symphony No. 35, “Haffner”
