On the Spot: Niki Wilson

Name: Niki Wilson

Job/title: Vice president of marketing and publicity, Paragon Theaters

Place of residence: Boca Raton

1) How does your day-to-day job play into your passion(s)?

I love the variety of my work. Every day is just a little bit different. I get to be creative working with my designers on collateral, marketing something I love—movies!

2) If you had to pick one meal to have every day for the rest of your life, what would it be?

That’s tough. I’m going to go with what I am eating while I write this: Chocolate chip cookies! Preferably homemade, and maybe some walnuts for added protein. Then we can call it a meal.

3) If you could go back and talk to the version of yourself from 20 years ago, what advice would you give them?

The only thing I would say is you’re doing great girl, keep it up.

4) Where is your favorite place on the planet and why?

Any hike in Southern California, preferably one where I can see the ocean though.

5) If you had to point to one moment that has changed/altered your life what would it be?

The moments that altered my life were having my son, Cole, and then 13 months later, when I had my daughter, Madi.

6) Aside from something involving family, what never fails to tug at your heartstrings?

The TV show “This is Us” and movies like “Green Book” and “A Star is Born” can really tug at my heartstrings.

7) What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?

I have received a lot of great advice in my life, but I will go with a recent recommendation to purchase a Peloton bike—which then also turned into a tread purchase. Best purchases ever.

8) When is the last time you were scared?

The last time I was scared was watching the movie “Get Out.”

9) What’s something about you that people might be surprised to know?

I have a Ph.D., and I was an adjunct professor for many years teaching English and communication courses.

10) If you could time travel, what time/place would you go and why?

I would go to the July 6, 2008 men’s tennis final at Wimbledon. Rafael Nadal defeated Roger Federer 6-4, 6-4, 6-7, 6-7, 9-7. It lasted 4 hours and 48 minutes.
