What: The exhibit celebrates home through multimedia works, assemblages and vignettes while celebrating ArtServe’s new two-year artistic plan. Other events include a VIP night on Aug. 22, 7 p.m. with a silent auction and Community Day on Aug. 31, 3-5 p.m. with popcorn, refreshments, fine art clearance sale and more.

“Pray the Gay Away”

When: Aug. 22- Sept. 1

Where: Broward Center

What: Billed as “a true-life coming-out comedy,” the off-Broadway comedy follows awkward, Arab-American twins Micheal and Zach Zakar, who come out to their homophobic, Catholic mother. The twins navigate their paths to dating, jail and, of course, the Bible.

Friday, August 30

Rock and Roll Poolside Concert

When: Aug. 30, 8 p.m.

Where: Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Hollywood

What: Enjoy iconic songs from some of rock and roll’s most legendary bands while you relax by the pool at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino. In advance of the Rolling Stones concert on Aug. 31, fans can enjoy tunes from the Rolling Stones tribute band, Music City Stones.

Saturday, August 31

Bark N’ Brunch

When: Aug. 31, 11 a.m.

Where: Brimstone Doral

What: Enjoy delicious bites with your furry friend at Brimstone Doral this Saturday at Bark N’ Brunch. Pets can choose from a selection of items on the Dog-Friendly Menu including Awoof Con Pollo, Filet Pupnon and No Cats Allowed. Humans can enjoy brunch classics like Doral’s Best Benedicts. All proceeds from food sales will benefit a local animal shelter.
