Tradewinds Park Fall Festival

When: Oct. 26, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.

Where: Tradewinds Park, 3600 W. Sample Road, Coconut Creek

What: Fall activities, such as hayrides, steam-train rides, pony rides, face painting, bounce houses and arts and crafts, offer fun for the whole family. Entertainment and food trucks keep the party hopping along with farm and barn tours and experiences with farm animals.

Art in the Park

Where: Liberty Tree Park, 7421 NW Fifth St., Plantation

What: The 53rd annual event, hosted by the Plantation Junior Woman’s Club, invites families to enjoy live music, food vendors, craft beer and wine, a kids’ corner and more family fun—all accompanying a juried fine arts and craft show. The free fundraiser raises money for local organizations.

Lynn Philharmonia No. 2

“Speakeasy” Gala

Miami City Ballet

What: The company’s season opener features Balanchine’s favorite ballet, “Stravinsky Violin Concerto,” “Mercuric Tidings” with choreography by the late Paul Taylor and music by Schubert; and Balanchine’s “Slaughter on Tenth Avenue,” set in a 1930s speakeasy to the music of Richard Rodgers.

Where: NSU Art Museum, One E. Las Olas Blvd., Fort Lauderdale

What: The contemporary works by artists such as Tracey Emin, Kenny Scharf, Jeff Koons, Takashi Murakami, Eugene Brands, Frances Trombly and Andy Warhol range from the mid-20th century to today. The works engage the viewer’s emotions through archetypal symbols, cartoon characters, music and dance, often portraying both the sorrow and happiness of the human condition.
