Oceans 234 opens community market with in-demand items available for pickup and delivery

Oceans 234, a restaurant in Deerfield Beach, has a message for its community: “We know that lines are long and the shelves are bare. We are here to help.”

The restaurant recently announced it will be opening its doors to local residents in need by way of a community kitchen. For the immediate future, South Floridians may order food and kitchen essentials from the restaurant’s new online store for same-day pickup or next-day delivery. The store is named 234 Grocery Store To Go.

Items on the store’s menu include hard-to-find essentials like toilet paper and hand sanitizer as well as food items like chicken breasts, milk, eggs, produce and more. The store also will attempt to fulfill special requests not on the menu.

The website will be updated daily with available items based on the restaurant’s stock.

With grocery stores seemingly bare and online retailers out of stock, this online store offers the ability to acquire the essentials they need while keeping hospitality workers employed.

Oceans 234 owner Danielle Rosse explained her motivation for creating the online marketplace. “I was trying to also think of ways to keep some of my team members working. … Oceans 234 continually looks for ways in which to provide value to the community, and our 234 Grocery Store To Go fulfills a critical need right now.”

How does Oceans 234 have access to these in-demand items? Because many restaurants are closing their doors by law and local regulation, restaurant suppliers such as Cheney Brothers, with which Oceans 234 has collaborated to supply these items, have a surplus of grocery and kitchen items that will otherwise go unused. “Our suppliers have plenty of stock and welcome to opportunity to collaborate for the greater good.”

Rosse says the community’s response to 234 Grocery To Go has been overwhelmingly positive. “There have been more than 200 shares of our Facebook post, and within hours of our webpage launch, we have had more than 48 orders.”

To place an order, visit https://www.oceans234.com/store/merchandise/ or call (954) 428-2539. Orders placed on Saturdays and Sundays will be available for pickup or delivery the following Monday.
