Pérez Art Museum Miami Launches Floating Films on the Bay Movie Series

Ballyhoo Media and Pérez Art Museum Miami (PAMM) are teaming up to offer South Florida residents a unique movie viewing experience. The free, family-friendly movie series at Pérez Art Museum Miami will be featured on a 60-ft floating screen on the water.

Movie Series at PAMM:

  • Thursday, Oct. 6 – In the Heights at 6 pm
  • Thursday, Nov. 3 – Toni Morrison: The Pieces I Am at 6 pm
  • Thursday, Dec. 12 – The Holiday at 6 pm

To celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month, the first movie in the series (10/6) will be Lin Manuel Miranda’s acclaimed In the Heights. Directed by Michael Chu, the Golden Globe-nominated film is a celebration of heritage and community.

For National Novel Writing Month, the November showing will be Toni Morrison: The Pieces I am. This documentary chronicles the legendary Nobel and Pulitzer Prize-winning author’s life. The film examines her life from her childhood through her book tours with Muhammad Ali, advocacy with Angela Davis and more.

For the December holiday season, the final showing of the series will be the classic romantic comedy, The Holiday. Starring Kate Winslet, Cameron Diaz, Jude Law and Jack Black, the movie chronicles two women from opposite sides of the Atlantic Ocean who exchange their homes, hoping to escape heartbreak during the holiday season.

RSVP for the free movie series by visiting pamm.org/events/. Food and drinks will be available for purchase.
