Saint Mark’s Episcopal School Announces Official Naming of Its New Building – Stiles Center for Science

Saint Mark’s Episcopal School (SMES) has named its new science facility the Stiles Center for Science. The official dedication ceremony on September 30th recognizes the extraordinary multi-generational leadership, philanthropy, and service of Stiles Construction and the Stiles Family.

The Stiles Center for Science stands as a testament to an almost 40-year legacy of commitment and generosity. The facility features 4 state-of-the-art classrooms, an outdoor wet lab, a large green space for community gatherings, and an outdoor chapel – all along the Middle River.

“The Stiles family has been an integral part of Saint Mark’s across three generations,” said Dr. Taintor, Head of School. “From volunteering in classrooms to building facilities that enhance student education, their devotion to our Episcopal values and academic excellence is unmatched. The Stiles Center for Science will inspire learning for generations to come.”

“Saint Mark’s has always felt like home, starting with my parents and me, to my sisters and their children, and now my own boys,” said Ken Stiles, CEO of Stiles Corporation. “To associate our family company name with a center that inspires curiosity and scientific discovery for students is a deep honor.”
