  • AvMed will present several online concerts on Facebook Live during its Live! from the Broward Center for the Performing Arts series. Coming up on July 27 is Havana-native Alex del Sol, who performs with a flamenco dancer. Other upcoming acts include jazz duo Davis and Dow (Aug. 17), vocal group Brazilian Voices (Aug. 31) and Grammy Award nominees Ike and Val Woods (Sept. 28).

 

  • The Miami-based Community Arts Program’s Virtual Summer Concert Series is underway and continues every Thursday night at 7:30 p.m. on Facebook or the CAP website. Coming up on the lineup are the 5 String Swing Quartet playing American Songbook classics (July 30), violinist Scott Flavin (Aug. 6) and jazz group Threefold (Aug. 13).

 

  • The Galleria at Fort Lauderdale, entertains Facebook users with a variety of artists through its Happy Hour with The Galleria virtual events. The July 30 stream will feature Chilean-born singer and pianist Eddie Bustamante who has performed in South Florida for 10 years. Joining him is vocalist Katherine Torrivilla. The stream starts at 5 p.m. and begins with with a new wine preview as part of The Capital Grille’s The Generous Pour – Summer Wine Tasting Event.

 

  • Up next on Montage-A Virtual Film Series by Pompano Beach Cultural Affairs Department is Pick, a film that follows the emotional journey of Alliyah when she chooses to wear her natural Afro on class photo day. Award-winning filmmaker Alicia K. Harris, who will be joining acclaimed writer/producer/filmmaker Cathleen Dean for the talkback after the screening. The event streams July 30 at 7:30 p.m. Register here.

 

  • South Florida-based artists Allison Matherly and Jeffrey Noble (featured image), who make up the mixed-media artist We Are Nice’n Easy, join Business for the Arts of Broward’s Arts Mean Business Speaker Series for Zoom presentation and Q&A. The duo has been commissioned to create public art projects by Broward County Art in Public Places, Downtown Hollywood Mural Project and more. They are currently working on an outdoor installation for the new Jackson Hospital in Doral. To attend the free Aug. 4 event, RSVP by emailing [email protected].
