Cooking for Good at Brimstone

Brimstone Woodfire Grill hosts a cooking class for a good cause.

With October in full swing, South Florida’s hot spots are honoring the month’s themes, including Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

For its part, Brimstone Woodfire Grill is hosting a cooking class with the American Cancer Society. All proceeds go toward ACS to support breast cancer research.

Guests will meet Julio Martinez, Brimstone’s head chef, and learn how to make a healthy three-course meal with menu items such as Mediterranean kale salad, baked garlic rosemary skewers and a poached pear dessert. Plus, those wanting even more health advice can speak to the on-site certified nutritionist.

Where: Brimstone Woodfire Grill at The Shops at Pembroke Gardens, 14575 SW Fifth St., Pembroke Pines

When: Oct. 10, 7 p.m.

Tickets: $25
