Danielle Gaudreau & Her Cavalier Kings

From shelter to Chanel—these pups went from rescue to runway.

Tell us about your dog, name, breed and what makes them special to you:

One day, they’ll probably know me as the “crazy dog lady”—but for now, let me introduce you to the loves of my life. I share my world with a little tribe of King Charles Cavaliers, each with a name as fabulous as their personality: Aspen, Barron, Dior, and Birkin, just to name a few. They are my shadows, my snuggles and my soulmates.

Each of my dogs has a story—it may not be perfect, but it’s ours. Their journeys brought us together, and every day I’m humbled by the simple truth that they chose me.

How do you juggle your work life or personal life with your dog?

Balancing a packed schedule—juggling multiple businesses and staying involved in charity work—can be a lot, but my babies are the calm in my chaos. There are days when I’ve simply had my fill of people—but never of dogs. No matter how tough life gets, my dogs are always there: unwavering, nonjudgmental, and full of love. They understand me in a way words never could, and their presence is the truest comfort I know.

What is your favorite pet charity or rescue organization and why?

My heart belongs to PAWS and the Humane Society of Broward County, where I have proudly volunteered and supported for over 20 years. I currently serve on the Board of Directors for PAWS and have watched their incredible evolution and unwavering love and compassion. I will never forget my own rescue mission rescuing over 140 dogs after Hurricane Katrina—when I needed help finding them homes, the Humane Society was there without hesitation and homed all the rescues within 48 hrs. I hope you will join me in supporting PAWS for the 2025-26 season as we have many incredible events planned to support the shelter.
