Go Big and Go Home

When he’s not busy re-imagining residential spaces in a more traditional sense for clients enthralled by his eye for contemporary simplicity and classical splendor, interior designer Victor A. Diaz, owner of Curated.Art in North Miami, loves transforming homes for the holidays.

One of those transformations, a detail-rich project for a client in Coral Gables, has become an annual affair that’s now entering its second decade. It takes Diaz approximately four weeks to plan and 10 days to install the lights, flowers, pine trees, plants and holiday decorations that adorn the exterior and fill rooms throughout the estate.

“Every year, I propose a different theme, which is typically a representation of the most symbolic experience and event lived by the client during that year,” says Diaz, who adds that roughly 40 percent of the plants/flowers/trees are live (the rest are artificial). “This is definitely one of the projects I look forward to, because I know how important it is for her and her family.”
