Kitchen Confidential

The experts at Allied Kitchen & Bath have been customizing South Florida cooking spaces for the better part of four decades. Bill Feinberg, president of the award-winning Fort Lauderdale-based company (alliedkitchenandbath.com), points out the highlights in some of his team’s recent high-end projects.

1. Delray Beach project: An elongated table island (left photo), made of quartz, immediately catches the eye in this contemporary kitchen. The space also incorporates a hidden door pantry, original hood design, customized wall paneling, and Sub-Zero and Wolf appliances (along with an Elkay water dispenser). “The simple lines, the contrasts in colors, the custom details and the grandiose height of the cabinets/walls come together [seamlessly],” Feinberg says.

2. Weston project: The client had input on this project (top photo), and she had her own designers involved. The heavy lifting here involved moving the kitchen 30 feet to create the open layout for which the client was looking. Notice the custom soffit, which features color-changing LED lights.

3. Boca Raton project: This open-concept kitchen (left photo), leading to the dining room and living room, incorporates a “wedding cake” island design with descending countertops. The staggered effect creates buffet-area planking on either side of the sink, perfect for hospitality stations when entertaining. The ultra-modern design features high-gloss metallic cabinets (10 feet high), engineered quartz countertops, a striking glass mosaic backsplash, and Sub-Zero and Wolf appliances.

4. Delray Beach project: Custom details in this kitchen (left photo) include the penny-tile backsplash on the wall behind the liquor display, Sub-Zero appliances (except for the range), quartz countertops (including the expansive island), and a mixed inset cabinet next to the range (instead of full overlay). “Don’t be afraid to mix it up,” Feinberg says. “This kitchen has a lot of different items, but with the right ingredients, the recipe works.”
