Lifestyle’s Guide to Summer Fun, Part 5

Explore the Oasis: A recently opened outdoor retail/art/dining/event space is adding to already vibrant energy of Wynwood. A striking floral archway serves as the gateway for guests entering the Oasis, a 35,000-square-foot setting that promises weekly live performances, cultural events, local arts programming, retail pop-ups and dining options that include New York favorites Prince Street Pizza and Alidoro sandwich shop. There’s also a “Tower Bar” and the indoor/outdoor lounge Huacachina, which boasts a nightly DJ.

Have Some Laughs: After going dark for more than a year, Hard Rock Live—the state-of-the-art indoor venue at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino—once again is welcoming entertainers back to South Florida. On Sept. 2-3, one of the nation’s hottest stand-up comics, Sebastian Maniscalco, takes the stage as part of his “Nobody Does This Tour.” The Chicago-area native, who has a food show coming to Discovery-Plus later this year, sold out arenas during his past two tours. Also on tap this fall: standup Tom Segura (Oct. 1), followed the next night by rock legends Guns N’ Roses (Oct. 2).

Drive Into the Wild: Florida’s largest drive-through safari turned out to be a blessing for families looking for anything to do (safely) during the pandemic. However, Lion Country Safari in Loxahatchee, now has opened other areas of the attraction founded back in 1967. In addition to the drive-through preserve—divided into seven areas (including spaces with kudus, impalas, giraffes, waterbucks, Southern White rhinos, and African lions)—visitors can enjoy the kids rides, splash park, petting zoo, and (on weekends) the fun slide and Safari Plunge water slide.
