Local Musician Evan Gilbert Raises Over $8,000 for GIB United With Benefit Concert

Las Vegas musical artist Cheaza and other friends joined Evan on stage.

Last month, 13-year-old theater performer Evan Gilbert directed, produced and starred in a benefit concert for GIB United. This David Posnack JCC program teaches life skills and independence to transitioning children, teens, and adults with special needs. The concert raised over $8,000 for the program and relief efforts in Israel. The concert was attended by nearly 200 people who were treated to Evan’s World Tour, which brought down the house.

For over 30 years, the David Posnack JCC in Davie has provided programs for children and adults with developmental disabilities. The organization started with its summer camp, Camp Giborim, and later introduced Giborim U, which offers enrichment classes throughout the school year.

The David Posnack JCC is still accepting donations. Call (615) 400-1773 or email [email protected].
