Local Nonprofits in Broward Receive Donation From BBX Capital Foundation

The Grant Presentation event at South Florida Wellness Network celebrated exceptional mental health organizations throughout Broward County.

During a Grant Presentation Reception at the South Florida Wellness Network last month, seven nonprofit organizations in Broward County received grants totaling over $100,000 from the BBX Capital Foundation. These organizations provide supportive services to local residents with mental health or co-occurring diagnoses. The BBX Capital Foundation partnered with the Broward Behavioral Health Coalition (BBHC) to coordinate the event and identify the organizations that received the grants. BBHC is the local behavioral health managing entity in Broward County and is responsible for the contracting, monitoring, clinical quality oversight and performance improvement of state-funded behavioral health services.

Seven nonprofit organizations were granted funding from the BBX Capital Foundation. The recipients of the grants include Tomorrow’s Rainbow, SunServe, Equine Assisted Therapy, Canine Assisted Therapy, Henderson Behavioral Health, NAMI Broward, and South Florida Wellness Network. These organizations plan to utilize the funding to provide various supportive services, such as housing, education, employment and recreational activities.

During the event, the president and CEO of BBX Capital, Jarett Levan, his wife Dara Levan, and Lois Marino presented the grants to the recipients. Jarett Levan talked about the BBX Capital Foundation’s dedication to mental health wellness in the community. Broward County Vice Mayor Nan Rich and Silvia Quintana, CEO of BBHC, discussed BBHC’s 10th anniversary/history and the support it provides to the community. They also expressed gratitude to BBX Capital and the BBX Capital Foundation for their commitment to making a difference in the community. Susan Nyamora, CEO/President of South Florida Wellness Network, welcomed attendees and shared her mental health journey.
