After a year of small, socially-distanced presentations and virtual streaming, the world’s largest marketing vehicle for the swim and resort wear industries—Paraiso Miami Beach—returned to form in 2021 with a multiday extravaganza filled with live runway shows.
Among the highlights was a prime-time Saturday night showcase for Sports Illustrated Swimsuit at the renovated Baia Beach Club, part of the Mondrian Hotel South Beach. Swimsuit supermodels—as well as 13 “Swim Search” hopefuls selected from SI’s open casting call—walked a runway constructed over the pool at the event sponsored by Cincoro Tequila and VOSA Spirits. More than 30 designers from the recently released Swimsuit issue were featured, including Norma Kamali, Matte Collection, Yandy, Missoni, Tori Praver, Beach Riot, Chloe Rose, Agent Provocateur, and Lace by Tanaya.
