The country’s largest free festival to celebrate diversity and inclusion for those facing challenges due to various disabilities has postponed its annual event. The Boating & Beach Bash for People with Disabilities, which was slated for Feb. 20 at Spanish River Park in Boca Raton, has been pushed to 2023 due to the surge in cases connected to the omicron variant of Covid-19.
Over the past two weeks (Jan. 12-25), Palm Beach County reported nearly 42,000 Covid-related cases. Broward County reported 71,166 cases for the same period; Miami-Dade County reported 140,280 cases.
The Bash, presented by the American Disabilities Foundation, will return to Spanish River Park next year. Organizers already are looking for sponsorships, vendors, exhibitors and boat captains for the 2023 event. Visit boatingbeachbash.com for more details.
