Must-See Takeaways From Miami Swim Week 2022

While this year’s Miami Swim Week has concluded, the number of highlights from the five days of events is nearly endless. The festival helped showcase the latest swim and resort wear fashion designs with dozens of runway shows, VIP events, dinners, parties and showcases to create one of the largest fashion swimwear gatherings in the world. Top designers, innovators and hundreds of models attended the events to witness the latest beauty and summer fashion trends.

Miami Swim Week 2022 Recap:

Nearly 70 top and emerging fashion designers participated in the Miami Swim Week 2022 at the iconic SLS Hotel South Beach. The shows featured curvy, plus-size brands, sustainable fashion brands, and stylish new emerging swimwear fashion looks. Body positivity, self-love, fabulous fashion, and feminine empowerment were the major themes in this year’s Miami Swim Week 2022 shows.

This year’s Miami Swim Shows enabled models to hit the runway for five consecutive days at the SLS Hotel South Beach, featuring everyday ready-to-wear beach attire, glamourous resort work and sultry bikinis.

Luxury Italian swimwear fashion brand Bikinilista collaborated with Swarovski to showcase the summer beach luxury lifestyle. The brand showed off its rich collection of fine bikini styles and uber-chic color spectrums. In addition, GoldBarr™ blended luxury and decadent cheek with beautiful resort dresses highlighted by tiny bikinis made from vegan leather and silky fabrics.

Another major highlight from Miami Swim Week came from Normal Culture, a new swimwear line by Bad Girls Club TV personality Jelaminah. The swimwear designer also brought out Bad Girls Club queen bee Natalie Nunn, who rocked the runway in a beautiful flowing black one-piece swimsuit and cover-up. In addition, Flo Rida was in attendance, watching the shows and hitting the Miami Swim Week after parties at HYDE Beach.

Albanian fashion designer Ema Savahl opened Miami Swim Week with stunning hand-painted art turned into couture swimwear fashion. The opening runway show was hosted by The Little Lighthouse Foundation, which is a local Miami charity dedicated to improving the lives of underserved children and families. All proceeds from the show were donated to the LLF.

Brazilian culture and traditional fashion significantly impacted men’s swimwear fashion on the Swim Week runway. From sexy bikini briefs with different prints, colors and shiny fabrics to adjustable luxury board shorts, men’s swimwear fashion runway looks made a major mark.

Diva Curves represented the curvy ladies in a major way on the Miami Swim Week 2022 runway. ONALAJA’s runway show featured beautifully creative and intricate women’s swimsuit designs, ponchos, glamorous skirts and dresses. Liliana Montoya Swim’s show with Macrame dresses, skirts and bikinis honored the Goddess vibe while glamming it up with beautiful, micro, knit, geometric and traditional bikinis.

Miami Swim Week also hosted an Opening party at Baia Beach Club at the Mondrian Hotel hosted by Whilelmina filled with beautiful models, influencers, media and VOGA Italia Prosecco, Gema Di Luna and Ketel One. Guests witnessed the kick-off of Miami Swim Week by watching a beautiful Miami Sunset while sipping champagne. The final closing parties included Maxim Magazine’s afterparty Saturday night at HYDE Beach, following the ultimate last party hosted by Eliad Cohen. He also debuted a new men’s swimwear fashion line worn by hot male models, truly rounded out the Miami Swim Week series of events.
