Kindergarten Student Collects Cards for Kids at Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital

Staying in a hospital can be difficult for anyone, but children face challenging circumstances when faced with extended hospital stays after an unexpected illness or traumatic accident. To help uplift the spirits of children staying at Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital in Hollywood, 5-year-old Brody Greene (main photo) began collecting cards for kids as his “Act of Kindness” for the Saint Mark’s Episcopal School’s annual initiative. Greene also enlisted the help of his classmates and students at his school and surrounding ones. He and other students at the school spent time volunteering at a beach clean-up, making bracelets for children, making blankets for the Humane Society, hosting a diaper drive, and more.

The “Acts of Kindness” initiative is part of Raise Craze, the annual fundraiser at Saint Mark’s Episcopal School, where students build character, inspire each other, and enhance communities while completing acts of kindness. Funds raised benefit the school, Healthy Mothers/Healthy Babies, and The Marine Environmental Education Center (Nova University).

  1. Way to go, Brody!! It’s amazing and very inspiring to see how you, at such a young age, are engaged with our community and think about the welfare of our children! Bravo!! Keep up the great work!!
