An Upscale Oasis in South Beach: Winter Haven Hotel Miami Beach

South Beach is a place every local and visitor should take the time to experience. Filled with different options when it comes to dining, entertainment and other places to explore, it’s the type of area that shines with diverse options for every visitor.

Ocean Drive, a historic and vibrant street on South Beach, is one that truly comes alive during the day with revelers enjoying some fun in the sun. Yet while sunshine is a welcome asset to our city, South Beach has so much more to offer, with many new changes coming into the area and city.

This includes upgrades to many historic hotels. The changes are subtle and classy, but they are strict and make sure the street keeps its cherished Art Deco district intact. There’s nothing more that we as Miami locals, as well as those who visit, love more than seeing this area and enjoying the views of this vibrant area.

Within this street lies the Winter Haven Hotel Miami Beach, a property that is a part of the Autograph Collection of hotels, it’s a gorgeous property and one that brings comfort, luxury, and a significantly classy vibe to Ocean Drive.

Not only does the hotel offer beautifully renovated rooms with plenty of space to rest and relax for those who decide on treating themselves for a stay, but its location on the quiet corner of 1400 Ocean Drive, makes it the perfect Oasis. An Oasis that is the perfect quiet escape from the hustle and bustle right outside.

The hotel boasts a long history, with the property being a part of the historic district since 1939. Architect Albert Anis created the hotel with the Art Deco style in mind, which makes it a unique staple of the area that still shines today.

Expect the warmest greeting when you check in and stroll into the expansive lobby. Not only are those checking you in and greeting you knowledgeable and kind, but they are extremely helpful and full of knowledge about the property. When my close friend and I walked through the lobby doors, we were quickly greeted by a smiling employee, who handed us a glass of sparkling champagne, making sure we felt instantly welcome for our stay.

As you walk inside, you will be amazed by the hotel’s 50s-style décor. The building is not only an elegant one, but its interior will make everyone feel cozy and in awe of its classy aesthetic and well-thought out, plus perfectly curated, art pieces surrounding the lobby area. Each of its 70 rooms don’t just offer enough space where those who stay can be truly comfortable, but many of the rooms also treat visitors to ocean views.

Not only is the hotel located at a walking distance from restaurants, bars, and entertainment venues in Miami Beach, but it’s also located right in front of Lummus Park. This location is perfect for those who wish to start the day or end the day during sunset with a walk by the beach-adjacent park. This also makes Winter Haven Hotel Miami Beach a place where you can easily plan your day and night in the area.

For those who wish to enjoy the hotel’s amenities even more, we recommend a stop at the hotel’s Italian restaurant, Il Bolognese, with a menu full of comfort dishes and appetizers, as well as drinks. We had the chance to dig into the restaurant’s bruschetta and classic meatballs as appetizers. We were impressed with the cocktails, as we paired up our food with the restaurant’s classic mojito and tried out the mango mojito and sangria. Make sure to take a moment and try the restaurant’s food, and the drinks are the perfect classics that are perfectly refreshing for the beachy area. We recommend sitting outdoors on a nice day, a spot that’s perfect for people-watching and catching the ocean breeze.

Then, there’s the hotel rooftop and lobby bar. The rooftop is expansive, located on the hotel’s 6th floor, offering expansive views of the city and gorgeous beach views. Make sure to enjoy one of the inviting plush chairs on the rooftop with a book, a beverage, or your laptop if you need to catch up with the outside world.

Lastly, the elegant lobby bar is one to visit, one that offers amazing cocktails created and served by energetic and knowledgeable bartenders. We recommend an old-fashioned or classic cosmopolitan martini. You will not regret these choices.

In the end, the Winter Haven Hotel Miami Beach is the hotel to visit if you wish to enjoy a great location and a cozy hotel full of elegance, great service, and charm.
