Dealing with Pandemic Stress
Mindfulness expert Barb Schmidt offers coping tips during an upcoming virtual seminar
Searching for ways to better deal with the stresses that have arisen during this unprecedented stay-at-home period? The Junior League of Boca Raton has found the right person to offer coping strategies. On Tuesday, May 14, the Junior League presents a live Zoom seminar featuring Barb Schmidt, bestselling author of The Practice and founder of the nonprofit Peaceful Mind Peaceful Life.
“When things become too much, it’s easy to allow anxiety and fear to take control of our minds and lives,” says Cristy Stewart-Harfmann, president of Boca’s Junior League. “Meditation and mindfulness practices have been proven to ease stress and promote more productive thinking. Barb’s deep knowledge and advice on coping with stress will be of great use to the community, especially during these trying times.”
Schmidt and Michelle Maros, creative director of Peaceful Mind Peaceful Life, will help viewers discern the issues behind anxiety and create practices to manage stress.
The seminar is set for 4 p.m. on Tuesday. In addition to the Zoom presentation, the event will be offered on demand at the Junior League of Boca Raton’s Facebook page. To participate, register here.
