Business for the Arts of Broward Holds Third Annual Art & Somm Event

Business for the Arts of Broward (BFA) invites the South Florida community to an exquisite evening of fine wine, delectable food and mesmerizing art at the Third Annual Art & Somm, presented by Burdette Beckmann Inc. (BBI). The event will showcase an artist encounter with Cey Adams (pictured) while a sommelier guides the guests through a wine tasting and food pairing. Art & Somm will occur from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 16, at MAD at 481 S. Federal Highway in Dania Beach. The tickets for this exclusive private event are priced at $250 per person and seating is limited.

Adams, a native of New York City, rose to prominence from the downtown graffiti movement and exhibited alongside renowned artists Jean-Michael Basquiat and Keith Haring. He became the founding Creative Director of Def Jam Recordings, a prominent Hip-Hop label, where he co-founded the Drawing Board, the label’s in-house visual design firm. There, he created visual identities, album covers, logos, and advertising campaigns for some of the biggest names in the industry, such as Run DMC, Beastie Boys, LL Cool J, Public Enemy, Notorious, Maroon 5, and Jay-Z. Adams takes inspiration from various sources, including 60s pop art, sign painting, comic books, and popular culture.

In addition to title sponsor BBI, additional sponsors include BBX Capital, Spirit Airlines, Yes We Are Mad, Castle Group and the Cathy & James Donnelly Family Fund at the Community Foundation of Broward.
