Casa Sensei: A Cozy and Sophisticated Restaurant for Fans of Pan-Asian and Latin-Inspired Cuisine

The restaurant perfects multiple types of flavors.

When it comes to dining out, we need to pick and choose based on what we feel like enjoying on a day or night out. Especially when we are in the mood for a specific type of cuisine. As a fan of different types of food and restaurant experiences, Casa Sensei is the type of place where you can come by and have a chance to enjoy many types of dishes. Their variety is impressive, and all dishes are made and presented with care.

And this is what makes it a special place for foodies, especially those who wish to indulge in something a little different. A little unique. Once I visited, I realized exactly why it’s so special.

Located in the bustling Las Olas Boulevard in Fort Lauderdale, Casa Sensei greets diners from a prime location by the Himmarshee Canal.

Not only is it a gorgeous location for a restaurant, but diners will be able to enjoy gondolas floating on the Canal from the indoor or outdoor seating.

The gondolas and relaxing river view give those who come by to enjoy a meal the feeling of what it would be like to visit a smaller version of Italy’s Venice. And it’s a relaxing option for those who might want an even more special experience while visiting Casa Sensei.

It turns out the restaurant partners with the company Riverfront Gondola Tours. These tours offer the chance to enjoy a special dinner on the water, while exploring the vast canals of the Las Olas area. It seems and promises to be one of the most soothing ways to spend an evening or afternoon, while enjoying a yummy and elegant meal.

Besides being a prime waterfront dining destination, Casa Sensei delivers with their service and food, which was proven during my recent visit for a late lunch.

The restaurant takes their take on Pan-Asian fusion flavors to heart. Not only does the restaurant mix in the culinary traditions of Latin America, but it’s refreshing to visit a place that can serve sushi just as well as other dishes on the menu, such as a variety of fried rice options alongside Latin-inspired dishes that pair well with anything that you choose.

While there, don’t be afraid to mix and match and enjoy different items together, just to make sure that you get the full feel of the restaurant and its menu options. Some stand out dishes that we tried and enjoyed included the classic Pan-Asian comfort dish, Pad Thai. The restaurant’s perfectly cooked noodles and hefty serving made for a great meal and left us with some to take home as well.

Looking for some hefty servings to share or take home? Other classic dishes at the restaurant such as the Lo Mein and Kimchi Fried Rice also deliver the classic flavors that are expected with a delicious twist.

A great starter to enjoy are the Bao Buns. I also recommend trying out the restaurant’s unique signature dishes such as the Lobster Guacamole, Ceviche Kanpai and Korean Grilled Steak

Chimichurri. These dishes show off the restaurant’s knack for mixing different flavors into one, and I recommend pairing any dish with the restaurant’s fresh sushi rolls

I’m a fan of great sakes, as well as Japanese whiskies, and had the chance to get recommendations from the knowledgeable server on which ones to try. Their top shelf liquor options are plenty, and their signature cocktails mix and match all sorts of flavors. And their version of the Lychee Martini is one we recommend having at the start of your meal.

Do you enjoy a bit of a sweet ending? Our meal ended with a fluffy serving of pink cotton candy, an adorable and surprising goodbye that made it more of a “see you soon.” Because you will certainly be back.

The type of restaurant that’s worth a second visit and beyond, one with an air of elegance, a dash of magic, and great tasting food and cocktails, Casa Sensei is an experience that is as fully immersive as it is delicious.
