NAMI Broward County’s Third Annual Artful Minds event featured over 125 guests coming together to support mental health awareness. The event included networking opportunities, light snacks and a showcase of artwork created by artists living with mental health disorders. The proceeds generated from the event aid NAMI Broward County in offering mental health services, education, advocacy and support to hundreds of thousands of individuals living with mental health disorders and their families.
An auction featured a carefully selected range of artwork, from framed pressed flowers to acrylic canvases, created by living artists who have dealt with mental health disorders. There were also inspiring performances by young poets from the Omari Hardwick blueapple Poetry Network and the acclaimed Impact Artist Alexander Star.
“As we celebrate the power of art and creativity in raising awareness and support for mental health, each brushstroke, each note, and each word spoken at our Artful Minds event embodies the resilience and strength of individuals living with mental health disorders,” says Dr. Joe Oravecz, CEO of NAMI Broward County. “Together, we are creating a brighter future where mental health services reach every person in need.”
Moss, Memorial Healthcare System, BrightStar Credit Union, BBX Capital, NorthStar Financial Planners, Grossman Roth Yaffa Cohen, Kip Hunter Marketing, Ricardo Bichara, CPA, StrubleCohen, Segal Trials, Baron Silver Stevens Financial Advisors and Lifestyle Magazine and South Florida Business & Wealth provided support for the event.
