New York-Based Restaurant to Open at Atlantic Village Location in Hallandale

Hallandale Beach’s mixed-use development, Atlantic Village, continues to attract out-of-town interest. With over 70,00 square feet of restaurant, retail and office space, Atlantic Village chose Temakase to join the project’s diverse restaurant lineup. The bistro’s popularity in New York’s trendy East Village originated from a pop-up experience at the Sagamore Hotel.

“We are thrilled to welcome Temakase to the compelling retail and restaurant mix at Atlantic Village,” says Daniel Chaberman, a developer with Grupo Eco Real Estate, which is developing the project. “Our goal was to bring unique and fun restaurant and retail options to the area, and we are excited to see it all coming together.”

Atlantic Village along North Federal Highway currently hosts service-oriented retail, entertainment, office and medical tenants. The lifestyle plaza is being developed in three phases. Phase one consists of open food-and-beverage tenants, including Crudos Fusion Art, Doggi’s Arepa Bar, Dr. Limon Ceviche Bar, Juice Mafia The Blues Burgers. Phase two involves adding more restaurant tenants featuring Holi Vegan Kitchen, Crema Gourmet, Gelato-Go, Jaffa Israel Kitchen and Wine Bar and La Piazzetta. Temakase will debut during the third phase, which is expected to be completed by the end of 2021.

“We are thrilled to welcome Temakase to the compelling retail and restaurant mix at Atlantic Village,” Grupo Eco Real Estate Developer Daniel Chaberman said. “Our goal was to bring unique and fun restaurant and retail options to the area, and we are excited to see it all coming together.”

Restaurant entrepreneurs Anthony Shnayderman and Liron Michaeli founded Temakase amd the restaurant is known for its Japanese handroll sushi bar that provides an authentic omakase experience. The Japanese term generally translates to “I’ll leave it up to you,” meaning the chef curates the menu offering various handroll tasting options. Customers also have an à la carte menu to choose from.

“Temakase offers the experience of getting to sit in front of a chef who will custom create a meal for you using the freshest ingredients,” Shnayderman says. “After seeing how well our concept was received at the Sagamore, we wanted a permanent South Florida location and Atlantic Village checked all the boxes.”
