Pinecrest Gardens is looking for a few good men. Or women. Or boys and girls, for that matter. In an effort to contain costs as well as involve the community, the Gardens needs volunteers to help maintain the greenery, assist with educational field trips and to act as ushers and helpers with Banyan Bowl events.
What the Gardens will not need are tour guides. That’s because Gardens tours are now available via an OnCell phone tour. All you have to do is dial 305.909.0007, and you can access an hour-long guided excursion through the tropical foliage. “It’s fantastic,” says Gardens Director Alana Perez. “You dial into the number and it takes you to 20 stops along the way. So, we don’t need volunteers for that, and you can go at your own pace.”
