Salvation Army of Broward Needs Donations to Replenish Food Pantry

Although the economy has shown signs of rebounding from COVID-19 restrictions, thousands of South Florida families continue to rely on the assistance of others to get by. As one of the largest sources of help for vulnerable residents, the Salvation Army of Broward County is requesting more donations to meet the ongoing demand.

To help replenish its weekly community distribution, the 501(c)(3) organization’s free food pantry is requesting food donations to help restock its supplies before its upcoming distribution on Thursday.

Donations are being accepted from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Salvation Army of Broward County, 1445 W. Broward Blvd in Fort Lauderdale. Non-perishable items and other pantry goods are needed to ensure underserved families can continue receiving necessary food items.

Since the pandemic began in 2020, the Salvation Army has seen a 244% increase in requests for food items.
