Tacocraft Taqueria & Tequila Bar Coming to Coral Springs

Summertime will be the expected opening date.

In June 2024, Handcrafted Hospitality Group, a culinary and beverage company based in South Florida, will be launching a new location of Tacocraft Taqueria & Tequila Bar in Coral Springs. The restaurant will be situated at 3300 North University Dr., bringing to the Village Square complex the renowned Mexican cuisine, margaritas, and a lively atmosphere that have made Tacocraft a popular restaurant in South Florida. Tacocraft is known for its exciting vibe, elevated Mexican dishes, Taco Tuesday, a vibrant weekend brunch and a bustling late-night bar scene.

With established locations in downtown Fort Lauderdale, Lauderdale-by-the-Sea and Plantation Walk, the Coral Springs outpost marks the continued expansion of what was once a standalone concept but quickly caught fire.

“The first Tacocraft really made its mark in the restaurant scene and quickly became the jewel in the Handcrafted Hospitality crown,” says restaurateur and Handcrafted Hospitality founder Marc Falsetto, who also partners with Anthony Bruno, Pat Marzano, Miami Dolphins legend Dan Marino and South Florida Miami radio personality Paul Castronovo. “We knew we had a winner and from that original location have grown steadily and strategically. So why Coral Springs? Our last opening was in Plantation and that city has been very good to us. The opening at Plantation Walk really filled a hole in the food scene there and we’re hopeful we’ll be able to bring the same magic to Coral Springs.”

The upcoming Tacocraft location will boast 4,500 square feet, making it the largest of its kind, passing the Plantation branch. The restaurant will have ample indoor and outdoor spaces, accommodating up to 200 diners. P2 Design’s expert team has designed the restaurant with a modern, chic, yet comfortable decor blend. Tacocraft’s signature bright green accents, colorful hand-selected art pieces, woven light fixtures, and velvet seating will all be featured, creating the notorious energetic ambiance that Tacocraft is known for.

The eatery’s lively atmosphere invites guests to indulge in a vibrant menu crafted by Robbyns Martinez, who serves as the Corporate Chef of Handcrafted Hospitality. The menu promises an explosion of flavor, featuring four specialty guacamoles alongside a Guacamole Flight that includes the Classic, Tropical, Sweet Potato and Bacon and Corn guacamoles. In addition, guests can enjoy snacks like Tuna Poke Tacos, Oxtail Empanadas, Elote “Street Corn,” and the establishment’s stack of Famous Ultimate Nachos.

Paying homage to some of the classics with a creative, unique twist, Tacocraft’s eclectic lineup of tacos includes Chicken Al Pastor – charred pineapple, crispy kale, pickled red onion and avocado-tomatillo sauce; Carne Asada – grilled skirt steak, queso fresco, refried black beans, garlic chimichurri aioli and watercress; Korean Short Rib – pickled cucumbers, Asian slaw, green onion and gochujang aioli; Chorizo and Egg – cotija cheese, potato hash, fried egg and cilantro; and an array of Reserve Tacos and new additions to the menu, such as The Smash Burger – prime beef patty, gringo cheese, shredded lettuce, pickle, onions and special sauce; Birria Taco and Hawaiian Big Eye Tuna. There is also an array of main plates, salads, sizzling Fajitas, and decadent desserts, including Churro Ice Cream Sandwich, Tequila Caramel Flan, and Tres Leches Bread Pudding.

The bar program at Tacocraft includes a variety of signature handcrafted margaritas. These include the Tacocraft Platinum with 818 Tequila, Grand Marnier, lime juice, agave nectar, and a salt rim; Jalapeño Cucumber with 21 Seeds Cucumber Jalapeño, muddled jalapeños, and fresh lime juice with a sugar rim; Passionfruit with Espolon Blanco, Anchos Reyes Chile, fresh lime juice, passion fruit, and hibiscus; and Mezcal Mango with Burrito Fiestero Mezcal, JF Haden’s Mango, agave nectar, and fresh lime juice. Additionally, the restaurant offers lively cocktails such as Tequila Mojito with Cazadores Blanco, La Pinta Pomegranate Liqueur, passion fruit puree, fresh lime juice, and Hellfire bitters; Grilled Pineapple Old Fashioned with Papa’s Pilar Rum, Filthy Cherry syrup, muddled grilled pineapple, bitters, and filthy cherry; Smoke in the Garden with Del Maguey Vida Mezcal, St. Germain, hibiscus syrup, fresh lime juice, muddled mint, and a Mexican tajin rim; and Guava Mamma with Bacardi Rum, St. Germain, fresh lime juice, and guava puree.
