Residents and visitors of South Florida have a wide range of activities to choose from this month.

1. NSAL STAR MAKER AWARDS GALA

The Lifetime Achievement Award at NSAL’s Star Maker Awards Gala, to be held at the Royal Palm Yacht and Country Club in Boca Raton on March 26, will be presented to the renowned artist Yaacov Heller. The National Society of Arts and Letters of Florida (NSAL) is excited to announce this honor. The Boca Raton-based nonprofit organization’s mission is to provide scholarships, competitions and mentoring opportunities for local performing and visual artists. The gala will include performances by NSAL scholarship recipients and competition winners, a dining experience and a celebration of the Lifetime Achievement Award winner. (Nsalflorida.org/events)

2. NEO MIAMI DESIGN DISTRICT

Miami Design District is excited to announce the launch of NEO Miami Design District, a monthly rotating pop-up that shines a spotlight on emerging fashion brands. NEO Miami Design District provides a unique platform for emerging designers to showcase their talent. This dynamic and immersive experience brings together rising brands within the same space, allowing them to craft a bespoke and captivating retail environment. NEO Miami Design District is a port of entry for national and international brands looking to enter the Miami market and connect with new audiences. 3. THE ART OF BRICK 

The Art of Brick is a globally recognized art exhibition that showcases intricate LEGO sculptures. It has traveled to various cities, including those on CNN‘s “Must-See” list, and is now displayed at the Olympia Theater (174 E Flagler St. Miami). The exhibition features over 150 sculptures created by artist Nathan Sawaya using millions of LEGO® bricks. 4. KOTO HINAMATSURI CONCERT

The Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens in Delray Beach is hosting a special concert to celebrate Hinamatsuri, also known as Doll’s Day or Girl’s Day, featuring the traditional Japanese stringed instrument, Koto. The concert on March 3 will be performed by Yoshiko Carlton and her Morikami students, showcasing their remarkable skills with the instrument. Visitors can enjoy the concert at two different times, 12 p.m. and 2:30 p.m., by purchasing a museum admission ticket and paying an additional $5 for the concert. (https://morikami.org/)

5. THE DONALD M. EPHRAIM SUN & STARS INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL

The Donald M. Ephraim Sun & Stars International Film Festival will close on Monday, March 11, with the heart-warming Italian romantic comedy Never Too Later for Love, starring writer/director Gianni Di Gregorio and Italian cinema icon Stefania Sandrelli. After the closing night film on March 11, an after-party is scheduled at Batch Gastropub, located adjacent to Paragon Theaters – Delray Marketplace. The party aims to celebrate the achievements of this year’s festival. The ticket price includes light bites and refreshments for the attendees. (https://sasiff.org/)
