Crafting Positive Change in South Florida

As the founder of Maca Re Group, Valentin Carbonell is part of a new generation of Miami developers helping shape South Florida with a more deliberate approach. His work reflects a clear point of view: development should do more than add buildings to a skyline. It should strengthen the way people live, move, and connect.

For Carbonell, the work begins with that larger purpose. “I’m motivated by turning ideas into the places people live, connect, and thrive,” he says. That people-first mindset has become central to both his leadership style and the identity of Maca Re Group.

Under Carbonell’s direction, the firm has established a strong foothold in Wynwood Norte, one of Miami’s fastest-evolving neighborhoods. Since 2021, Maca Re Group has assembled more than 180,000 square feet of land there, positioning itself as a meaningful force in the district’s ongoing transformation. Projects including Casa Wyn, Wyn 05, Wyn Ave, and W35 reflect an approach that combines design, walkability, and a respect for neighborhood character. Rather than pursuing growth for its own sake, Carbonell’s work aims to create residential and mixed-use spaces that feel connected to the existing fabric of the city.

That philosophy carries into Bay Harbor Islands, where Carbonell has applied the same measured vision to boutique waterfront development. Aire Residences, his first major success in the area, introduced a refined concept for luxury living through an intimate collection of eight waterfront homes. The project sold quickly, with only one full-floor residence remaining, a 6,400-square-foot home with a 3,000-square-foot terrace and private dock access.

He followed that success with Aire Residences Boutique, an eight-unit project located a few blocks inland. The development continues Carbonell’s preference for privacy, functionality, and understated elegance over excess. With most units already under contract, it signals continued demand for homes that emphasize thoughtful design and livability.

Carbonell’s leadership has also been shaped by market volatility. In a sector where timing and sentiment can shift quickly, he has built Maca Re Group around discipline, adaptability, and long-range thinking. He approaches uncertainty not as a deterrent but as a reason to sharpen execution and stay focused on lasting value.

For Carbonell, real estate is not about chasing the moment. It is about building places with relevance, longevity, and a sense of purpose. Through Maca Re Group’s growing presence in Wynwood Norte and Bay Harbor Islands, he is helping define a more intentional version of development in Miami, one rooted in design, resilience, and community.

As South Florida continues to evolve, Carbonell is among the leaders helping shape what comes next.
