Flip Flops on the Rooftop, A Beach Themed Soiree Under the Stars!

THE EVENT  Leave your heels and ties at home and enjoy a fun, casual night out for a great cause: Jack & Jill Children’s Center. Flip Flops on the Rooftop is the center’s major fundraiser hosted by the Friends Board.

Hang ten in the company of this fun group with live entertainment provided by Weedline and performances by the Aloha Islanders. The evening will feature tropical style food, silent and live auctions, and a pot of gold raffle. This year’s chairs are Sally Beach, Patty Hawk, Kerry Kelley, Marisa Olive, and Rebecca Baughman Shriner. The presenting sponsor is Stearns Weaver Miller Weissler Alhadeff and Sitterson, PA.

All proceeds from this year’s event will provide scholarships and family support services. “It’s wonderful to see the outpouring of support from our community each year. Fundraisers such as our madly entertaining Flip Flops on the Rooftop enable us to continue improving the lives of our center’s children and parents,” commented Maria Meyer, Director of Development.

THE CAUSE  Founded in 1942 by the Junior League of Greater Fort Lauderdale, Jack & Jill Children’s Center has continued a 70-year tradition of successfully serving the most vulnerable members of our community—the children of low-income working families in Broward County.  Jack & Jill provides high quality, nationally accredited, early childhood education focusing on enabling children to grow emotionally, physically, and socially in a safe, caring environment using age-appropriate methods for cognitive growth. Equally important, Jack & Jill provides the tools, training and resources necessary to enhance the ability of parents and caregivers to foster their child’s healthy growth and development, thereby reducing the risk of abuse, neglect, and long term poverty.

TICKETS  Tickets are $150 per person, and $250 for a Starfish Patron ticket, which includes 1 admission plus provides 2 days of summer camp. Contact Jennifer Swercheck at 954.463.8772 Ext. 218 or [email protected]. Tickets may be purchased online at www.flipflopsrooftop.org
