Velvet Taco Offers Opportunity to Invent a Taco for National Taco Day

The company is renowned for its globally-inspired and innovative tacos.

Taco lovers can start preparing their taco recipes for a flavor-packed showdown. Texas-based Velvet Taco, which recently opened a Fort Lauderdale location, is inviting fans to unleash their taco creativity by participating in this year’s WTF Recipe Contest in celebration of National Taco Day on Oct. 4. Get those taco ideas sizzling and prepare for a flavor-packed showdown!

Participants can submit their unique taco recipes to have them featured as the WTF across all Velvet Taco locations nationwide during the taco holiday week. The WTF (weekly taco feature) introduces a new specialty taco every week, drawing inspiration from various dishes, global destinations, and seasonal trends. The winning recipe will not only be showcased on the WTF menu during National Taco Day week but will also entitle the winner to a private prep session with Chef Venecia Willis, Velvet Taco’s Director of Culinary, in a Velvet Taco kitchen and a $250 gift card.

Previous winners include last year’s “Welly Welly WTF,” inspired by the famous beef Wellington, featuring dijon glazed filet, mushroom duxelles, crispy prosciutto ham, red wine demi and thyme puff pastry.
