A Decade In, Pegasus Still Sets the Pace

Horse racing’s most style-forward spectacle marks ten years with Empire of the Sun, Two Friends, and a reimagined fan experience.

On Saturday, January 24, 2026, the Pegasus World Cup returns to Gulfstream Park, marking its tenth anniversary not as a nostalgic victory lap, but as a confident reminder of how thoroughly it has reshaped the modern race-day experience.

From the beginning, the Pegasus World Cup was designed to be more than a race. Over the past decade, it has become a cultural hybrid—elite Thoroughbred competition fused with fashion, music, hospitality, and celebrity—setting a new benchmark for what horse racing can look like when it meets contemporary culture head-on.

This milestone edition leans fully into that legacy. Following the races, the coveted Flamingo Room will host Empire of the Sun: Reimagined, a custom DJ set created exclusively for Pegasus guests, reinforcing the event’s reputation for landing musical moments that feel intentional rather than ornamental. The Flamingo Room remains Pegasus’ crown jewel: an elevated enclave with sweeping track views, curated cuisine, and an atmosphere that feels closer to an international music festival than a traditional race day.

The 2026 experience also introduces a new energy center: the Pegasus Fan Zone inside the Carousel Club. Headlined by chart-topping DJ duo Two Friends, the space blends wagering, high-touch hospitality, and Palm Tree Crew–curated performances into a more immersive, younger-facing way to experience the day. It’s race day as social calendar, not spectator sport.

At the heart of it all remains the racing. This year’s card features $5.7 million in total purses, led by the $3 million Pegasus World Cup Championship Invitational (GI), alongside the Turf Invitational (GI) and the Filly & Mare Turf Invitational (GII). The competition continues to attract world-class horses and global attention, anchoring the spectacle in sporting credibility.

“The Pegasus World Cup was created to introduce a new, meaningful event to the Thoroughbred horse racing calendar,” says Belinda Stronach, Chairman and CEO of 1/ST. “Ten years in, it is recognized as one of the most anticipated and exciting events in the sport.”

Hospitality remains central to the Pegasus identity. Through its ongoing partnership with Groot Hospitality, guests in the Flamingo Room will experience menus drawn from Gekk?, Komodo, Papi Steak, and Casadonna, alongside live performances curated to match the room’s cinematic scale. The collaboration with Palm Tree Crew extends that sensibility into the Fan Zone, creating a cohesive experience across the property.

And when the track goes quiet, the celebration continues. The official after-party unfolds at LIV Nightclub, where Pegasus energy carries into the night with a headline set by Frank Walker and ARTY—proof that Pegasus still understands the power of a proper finale.

Ten years in, the Pegasus World Cup isn’t chasing relevance. It’s defining it—again.
