Leaders in Health Care

Q&A with Dr. Gordon L. Chen, Co-Founder and CEO of BLU by Thrivewell

What excites you the most about recent developments in healthcare?

Honestly, it’s the shift from “sick care” to true preventive, personalized care. We’re finally seeing medicine catch up to what people have always wanted: longer healthspan, not just lifespan.

What do you find growing in popularity among your clientele?

Members increasingly want data-driven insight: VO? Max, resting metabolic rate (RMR), visceral fat, genetics, and continuous biometrics. They want to understand themselves and then have a coach and clinical team help turn those insights into action.

What is the impact of AI for your business/practice and patient education?

AI helps us translate complex health data into clear, personalized guidance. It also helps our coaches and clinicians spot patterns earlier, tailor interventions, and educate members in a way that feels understandable and empowering.

What are the key differentiators for your offering and services?

BLU by ThriveWell™ combines longevity medicine, precision diagnostics, recovery, fitness, coaching, and community under one roof. We integrate all of them into a single experience, so members have both medical oversight and regular accountability.

What is the impact of social media on client awareness and expectations?

Social media has made people more aware, but also more confused. There’s a lot of noise. Our role is to cut through trends and misinformation and bring members back to evidence-based, sustainable health practices.

What’s next on the horizon that gets you excited about healthcare?

Continuous, real-time health monitoring paired with precision coaching. We’re moving toward a world where your daily habits, biomarkers, and medical insights are all connected — and a team supports you proactively, not reactively. That’s the future BLU by ThriveWell™ is building.
