Lona Cocina & Tequileria Hosts Chef Pairing Dinner

It is curated exclusively for one night by Lona’s new Executive Chef, Juan Carlos Peña.

Tequila lovers can look forward to something special at Lona Cocina & Tequileria, Fort Lauderdale Beach’s renowned Mexican restaurant, with its upcoming ‘A Taste of Mexico: Chef’s Pairing Dinner.’ This dinner series, held in the intimate Chef’s Table private dining room, goes beyond the ordinary by showcasing culinary excellence and innovative spirit pairings. The unforgettable dining experience includes a vibrant multi-course tasting menu curated exclusively for one night by Lona’s new Executive Chef, Juan Carlos Peña.

The event at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 20, presents a well-crafted meal with a nod to the historical roots of Mexican cuisine, with each dish carefully crafted to complement the distinct flavors of the featured tequila. Lona Cocina & Tequileria’s chef’s pairing dinner will allow guests to indulge in a culinary journey that blends Mexican traditions with innovation. Executive Chef Juan Carlos Peña has curated the menu for the night, expertly pairing each dish with selections from the Casa Del Sol Tequila portfolio. Guests will kick off the dining experience with a Gazpacho Carmin amuse bouche made with bell pepper, strawberry, pickled onions, lavash, and goat cheese, along with a Compressed Jicama welcome cocktail made with tagin, hibiscus, and lime.

The dinner will start with a Tuna dish that features mushroom, tortilla ash, tostada, and habanero, complemented by Casa del Sol Blanco. Afterward, guests will be served a Braised Beet Salad with salsa macha, honey tuille, and cilantro, prepared tableside and served with Casa del Sol Reposado. For the main course, Chef Peña will prepare a perfectly cooked Lamb Loin served with pomegranate reduction, onion, almond, and parsley and complemented by Casa del Sol Cristalino. The evening will end sweetly with an Aztec-style chocolate Mousse that features cinnamon, vanilla, star anise, dried chili, and corn paired with Casa del Sol Anejo.

The event is priced at $125 per person. Seating is limited; reservations are required and can be booked through OpenTable here. Lona Cocina & Tequileria is at 321 North Fort Lauderdale Beach Blvd. at The Westin Fort Lauderdale Beach Resort. Discounted valet parking is available.
